2 Days of Backgammon in the heart of the Midlands

Situated in Worcestershire, with excellent transport connections just off the junction of the M42 and M5, the Worcestershire Open will be held in picturesque surroundings at the Hillscourt Hotel and Conference Centre.  Hillscourt’s redbrick charm dates back to 1897, but the luscious green surroundings of the Lickey Hills are prehistoric and so beautiful they inspired Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.

The venue provides wonderful playing rooms and other facilities you'd expect from a first class venue. Full inclusive board is provided for those staying in the hotel, whilst those attending on a daily basis will be able to make use of the on-site restaurant.

The playing rooms are large and pleasant. They are accessible with a lift, with separate break-out areas to meet friends and relax between matches. Tea and coffee will be available for players.

Worcester Backgammon Club are hosting this major tournament as part of the annual UKBGF tour.  Results from this event count towards awarding places at the annual UKBGF Tour Winners Invitational event, and all matches will be UKBGF-rated.

My favourite part of the event was the friendly atmosphere and it was great to have the seminar with Dan, The staff were lovely. It was great to support the NASUWT ( maybe next year you could highlight the great work that they do). Dave Sanders was superb and his spreadsheets made it easy to follow the event...
The venue could not have been better and could almost have been designed for a backgammon tournament.

This event is brought to you by Sean Jones and David Sanders, organisers of the annual Worcester Intermediates Open and the annual Christmas Turkey Tourney, as well as several other successful tournaments. For the last two years, Sean has also been involved in running the flagship UKBGF Open Tournament and Dave has also run over 270 online tournaments.
